Mark Olival, is the sole owner and craftsman of Olival’s Custom Woodworking. Mark retired from the US Air Force in 1990 and from the Federal Government in 2006. He started making shadowboxes in the late 1980’s while working in the Pentagon. The demand for his high quality, handmade, shadowboxes grew into the business he runs today.

Mark prides himself in the fact that he makes every box himself to maintain the highest quality which is the signature mark of his boxes. All his boxes are made from real hardwood. Mark also has a state-of-the-art Laser Engraver to do your engraving. He did all the layouts and mounting you see on this site and can do your for you.

Since 2001 Mark has provided the ARMY Times with the BIG HOUSE shadow boxes for the Annual Awards and every year since they have used Olival's Custom Woodworking for this prestigious event. In the 2001 and 2002 photos John McCain is doing the presentations.
